Saturday, May 28 – General Dawood Dawood, commander of 303rd Pamir Zone in Northern Afghanistan and 3 other officials killed in an explosion in Takhar Province at 16:40 today.
The explosion occurred while Gen. Dawood and other Afghan officials were attending a security meeting in governor’s compound in Taloqan city, Takhar Province.
A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it was a huge blast. Smoke was seen rising from the high-security building.
A number of attacks have been taken place after the Taliban have declared a “spring offensive” of attacks against security forces across the country.
