HERAT, Afghanistan – Afghan National Police discovered and neutralized at least four mines in Herat and Nimrus provinces, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs Thursday.
Security officials did not elaborate further details on the culprits of such an act, but said roadside mines are “planted by terrorists” to target forces and civilians in the provinces.
“ANP discovered and neutralized four roadside bombs planted by terrorists in Herat & Nimruz provinces,” said MoIA in a tweet. “Police are committed to protect people.”
Usually, the Taliban claim responsibility for such an attack, where dozens are being killed and wounded in roadside mines throughout the country.
