AFGHANISTAN – A special unit of the Afghan National Police (ANP) discovered at least four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in a series of operation across the country, said the Ministry of Interior Affairs in a statement Thursday.

“The engineering teams of ANP following point-to-point search operations, managed to discover & defuse four IEDs in Kandahar, Farah & Sar-e-Pul provinces,” said the MoIA in a tweet.

Officials did not provide further details, but said “the terrorists had planted the bombs to target the innocent civilians.”

Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
