Second explosion reported in Kabul city in less than 24 hours

A second explosion took place in Kabul city, less than 24 hours after a similar explosion killed or wounded at least 7 people.

Ferdaws Faramurz, a spokesperson for Kabul Police Headquarters, confirmed that an explosion took place in the 9th district of Kabul city earlier today.

Faramurz further added that the explosion took place in Makroryan area of the city at around 8:00 am local time, targeting a Toyota Land Cruiser type vehicle.

He also added that the explosion left at least two people wounded. However, he did not elaborate further whether the victims are civilians or personnel of the government.

No individual or group including Taliban has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.

This comes as a similar explosion killed 2 people and wounded at least 5 others in Company Bazaar area of Kabul city at around 3:40 pm local time on Sunday.
