The Afghan forces clashed with the Taliban militants in southern Helmand province killing at least 34 militants, the informed military sources said Saturday.

The sources further added that the security forces killed the Taliban militants in Marjah district of the province.

Additionally, the security forces carried out separate airstrikes in Musa Qala, Nahr-e Saraj and Sangin districts killing at least 16 militants.

“In Musa Qalah district, 2 strikes killed 8 Taliban fighters and destroyed one vehicle,” the sources said, adding that an airstrike in Nahr-e Saraj killed 4 Taliban fighters and injured another militant.

The security forces carried out similar airstrikes in Sangin district killing 4 Taliban fighters and destroying 2 vehicles.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the clash and airstrikes so far.
