Local Taliban government officials say that a fire in the village of Bala Mardian in the northern province of Jawzjan has caused dozens of families to be forced to evacuate their houses.

According to provincial police chief spokesperson Serajuddin Ahmadi, at least 50 residential structures in the northern province of Jawzjan had been destroyed by natural fire since Monday.

A natural fire that broke out on Monday has ravaged at least 50 homes, many of which have been reduced to rubble and ashes, the official said.

The majority of the homes where the devastated area’s residents once resided were constructed of mud and wood.

The official stated that the cause of the fire outbreak is still unknown and that those who have been rendered homeless as a result of the fire did not have tents to live in during the hot blistering summer.

One after another, houses have been catching fire over the past few days.

Scores of families have been forced to leave their homes due to these fires, which have horrified and worried the inhabitants of Jawzjan’s Faizabad district.

The fire in the forests in the eastern Nooristan province last month, which spread to other provinces, also destroyed thousands of trees and at least 200 acres of land.
