Scores busted over drug trafficking in Kabul, Oct. 27, 2020.

KABUL, Afghanistan – At least six suspects arrested over multiple charges, including drug trafficking, after the Counter Narcotic Police of Afghanistan carried operations in several district of the capital city, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said Tuesday.

“Six drug smugglers arrested & 7kg of hashish seized following several separate Counter-Narcotics operations carried out by CNPA in Kabul & its surrounding districts within the past 48 hours,” said MoIA in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Afghan National Police arrested seven further suspects charged with various criminal cases in Kabul.

Officials did not provide further details on identity of the suspects, but said their cases have been referred to relevant authorities for further investigation.

“Eight suspects involving in different criminal cases were arrested during several separate raids carried out by ANP in Kabul & its surrounding districts,” the tweet added. “ANP has referred the cases to relevant authorities for further process.”

Arrest came at a time the country has tightened its security measures amid various threats throughout Afghanistan, including armed robberies and kidnappings.
