Sayed Mansoor Naderi, one of the prominent religious and national figures of Afghanistan and the leader of Paiwand-e Milli Party formally endorsed Abdullah Abdullah for upcoming presidential elections.
Speaking during a gathering in Kabul earlier this evening, Mr. Naderi said he endorses Abdullah for presidential elections due to his national thoughts.
Mr. Naderi further added that Afghanistan needs national unity and an end to the ongoing conflict, considering the current conditions.

He also added that the Paiwand-e Millie Party of Afghanistan together with its political allies and People’s Council of Ismailis jointly decided to endorse Abdullah for upcoming presidential elections.
Mr. Naderi endorsed Hamid Karzai for 2009 presidential elections and organized two major rallies in his support in Kayan and Kabul with some Western media outlets describing him as ‘Kingmaker’.
Similarly, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani gave Mr. Naderi the title of ‘Eagle of Hindukosh’ after receiving the endorsement of Mr. Naderi in 2014 presidential elections and subsequently winning the race.
