The Saudi Press Agency, citing the Saudi Supreme Court, reported that the first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be Friday, the 15th of June.
In the meantime, reports emerging from the United Arab Emirates suggest that the UAE moon-sighting committee is also likely to make an announcement soon.
Earlier, the International Astronomy Centre announced that the moon had been sighted in Jebel Hafeet using the technique of astronomical imaging.
On the other hand, reports emerging from Pakistan suggest that the moon has not been sighted anywhere in Pakistan on Thursday.
The Chairman of moon-sighting committee Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman has said that the Shawal moon has not been sighted and therefore Eid Al-Fitr will begin on Saturday.
