The Taliban-controlled media said that 3 people were killed and 8 others were injured in a car accident on the Salang highway in northern Afghanistan.

The event occurred on Friday, November 4, according to a report from Bakhtar News Agency, the Taliban-run state media.

According to the report, a passenger vehicle of the minibus type overturned in the Doshakh region of the Salang highway, leaving 3 people dead and 8 others injured.

Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, the 5th of November, a car transporting health workers flipped in the province of Laghman, in eastern Afghanistan resulting in the deaths of 7 people including 2 doctors.

The traffic mishap claimed the lives of 7 persons, including a male and female doctor, according to Salamat Khan Bilal, the Taliban governor for the province of Laghman.

According to Qari Abdul Qahir Mutawakul, the Taliban’s district governor for the Dawlat Shah district of the province of Laghman, a Surf-style car carrying health personnel crashed and fell down the valley, causing fatalities and injuries.

Road damage and careless driving are thought to be the main causes of traffic accidents, which considerably contribute to traffic-related fatalities across Afghanistan even though the traffic department has not yet identified the exact cause of this tragedy.
