Russian artillery destroyed the Ukrainian control centre for drones or unmanned aircraft in the Novodonetsk region, Oleg Chekhov, head of the press centre of the battlegroup Vostok, said, TASS reported.
“Rocket-launching artillery fire destroyed the command post for unmanned aircraft of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Novodonetsk region, and the Msta-B towed howitzer in the Novoivanovka region,” he said.
Chekhov also reported that mortar fire from the Ukrainian military destroyed a mortar crew northwest of Novodonetsk, a grenade launcher crew north of Urozhaynoye, and an enemy electronic warfare station west of Zolotaya Niva.
“Lancet loitering ammunition destroyed two Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers northwest of Ravnopol and Velyka Novoselka,” he said, as Tass cited.
The move came after the increased attacks of drones by Ukrainian forces to target Russia.
On Friday, two Ukrainian naval drones had tried to stage an overnight attack on its Black Sea navy base at Novorossiysk in an incident that damaged a Russian warship.
The Russian officials said that the Ukrainian attack had been thwarted in the waters around the base, and the two drones had been sunk.
The incident happened amid a recent surge of drone attacks on Russian soil, including three drone attacks during the preceding two weeks in the middle of the Russian city.
