Russia’s foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said that his country will terminate its diplomatic mission in NATO and will end its diplomatic status in the organization in November.

Lavrov said that the decision was made after NATO expelled eight Russian diplomats accused of espying to Russia.

NATO chief Gens Stoltenberg had said that Russia has increased its harmful movements and has thus halved the number of Russian diplomats in the organization.

NATO has not been sent any formal letter about the cancellation of the mission but said that they have heard the news from Sergy Lavrov.

The Russian foreign minister accused NATO of being indifferent to the negotiations of the organization and added that NATO can contact their embassy in Brussels in case they need to.

German foreign minister Heiko Mass reacted to the decision of Russia and said that the step is concerning.
