A heavy explosion was heard in capital Kabul late Wednesday night, with preliminary reports suggesting that a rocket landed near the Iranian embassy.
Officials in Kabul police department said they are aware that an explosion was heard in the 10th district of Kabul city.
The officials further added that the reports regarding the landing of a rocket near the Iranian embassy could not be verfied and investigations have been launched in this regard.
In the meantime, Hashmatullah Stanikzai, spokesman for Kabul police department, said a magnetic bomb planted to a police vehicle went off late Wednesday night without any casualties.
According to Stanikzai, the blast took place around 9:00 pm local time in the 11th police district of Kabul city and only the police vehicle was damaged following the blast.
