According to local authorities in eastern Afghanistan, at least two Afghan police officers were killed following a roadside bomb explosion in eastern Khost province.
The officials further added, the incident took place late Saturday in Latak area near Khost city after a vehicle of the Afghan police forces struck with a roadside bomb.
A spokesman for provincial police headquarters Ziarat Gul Azhans confirming the incident said, the deceased police officers were working for Afghan counter-narcotics department and were travelling in a corolla type vehicle when the incident took place.
According to local officials, Afghan security forces have launched an investigation in regards to the explosion, however no suspect has been detained in connection to the incident.
No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
Taliban and other militant groups frequently use Improvised Explosive Device and Roadside bombs as the weapon of their choice to target Afghan and NATO-led coalition forces.
