
United States’ Resolute Support Mission handed four A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets to Afghan Air Force.
The four A-29 Super Tucanos were handed over in a ceremony today to the country’s defense forces.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the Resolute Support Forces, officials of the Ministry of Defense, including Asadullah Khalid the head of the Ministry.
“We have a commitment with NATO that is long-lasting and continuous,” said Khalid.
He added, in case one day the NATO troops leave, the Afghan government is ready to defend the country.
Resolute Support reportedly stressed they will not allow Afghanistan to once again become a safe haven for terrorists.
Previously, the Resolute Support forces had handed over 18 military aircraft to the Afghan Defense Forces, and six others are scheduled to be handed over in the coming months.
