The Quick Reaction Forces of the Afghan National Police repulsed a Taliban attack in southern Helmand province killing or wounding at least 9 Taliban militants.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement that a group of Taliban militants were looking to launch attacks on security posts in Garamser district.

The statement further added that the Quick Reaction Forces of the Afghan National Police responded to the attack leaving least 6 militants.

Furthermore, the interior ministry said the security forces also wounded 3 Taliban militants during the clash.

The interior ministry also added that the Taliban militants left the dead body of one of their comrades in the area along with an Ak-47 assault rifle and its munitions.

According to interior, the security forces did not suffer casualties during the clash.
