The special envoy for Qatar’s foreign affair minister met with the caretaker administration’s acting foreign minister on Sunday, a spokesman for the acting foreign minister said.
Mutlaq Bin Najed Al-Qahtani, the special representative of Qatar’s foreign minister, and delegations met with the acting foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Kabul, said a spokesperson for foreign affairs, Abdul Qahar Balkhi.
“Today, the Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, Dr Mutlaq bin Majid Al-Qahtani, and accompanied delegation called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi at Storay Palace,” said in a tweet.
He added both sides discussed the strengthening of the relationship and humanitarian aid.
“The meeting focused on topics of mutual interest with detailed discussions about political cooperation, strengthening relations and the role of Qatar Charity in humanitarian operations. Both sides stressed that existing opportunities should be managed and utilized well,” Balkhi said.
The meeting comes after the Taliban administration imposed restrictions on women’s education and females working in the International community, which faced international criticism, including Qatar’s concerns.
In addition, the interim government informed all the private and public universities to refuse to register girls for the upcoming university entrance exam.
Many foreign delegations and international aid organizations have recently visited Afghanistan to urge the Taliban to consider women’s education and work in international organizations.
However, despite criticism by the international community about the ban on Afghan female education and work, there has not been any development to the issue.
