A prominent Taliban commander to injuries which he had sustained following an airstrike in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said Habib Naseri, one of the prominent commanders of Taliban, succumbed to his injuries which he had sustained during an airstrike a week ago.

The statement further added that Naseri sustained injuries during an airstrike which the Afghan forces conducted in Kanam Village.

The airstrike killed multiple Taliban militants and wounded several others, the statement said, adding that Naseri died of his wounds on Friday night.

According to Ministry of Defense, Naseri was involved in major terrorist related activities and killings of Kunduz residents.
