Wednesday, November 02, 2011 – His Highness prince Karim Aga Khan following a ceremony attended by Afghan and Tajikistan officials inaugurated the construction of a new bridge between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
The construction work of the new bridge between Afghanistan and Tajikistan was inaugurated in the presence of Tajikistan president Imam Ali Rakhmanov and local officials.
While speaking during the inauguration ceremony, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan expressed his gratitude for both the nations and the local leaders for assisting the Aga Khan Foundation for the outstanding assistance and support to start the work of the bridge.
His Highness prince Karim Aga Khan following an official visit arrived to Afghanistan on Sunday 30 October 2011.
During his meeting with Afghan president Hamid Karzai, His Highness prince Karim Aga Khan vowed to speed up the reconstruction projects of Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan.
Prince Karim Aga Khan vowed for a long term commitment of the Aga Khan Foundation in reconstruction of Afghanistan Health, Education, Cultural sectors and facilitation of drinking water for the remote residents of Afghanistan.
