Immigration News

Supreme Court Leader-Sayed Yousuf HalimSayed Yousuf Halim who recently became member of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court has been approved by Presidential Palace to take office as the new Chief Justice for the country.

Halim took oath as a member of the Supreme Court on Monday and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah while talking to the council of ministers said that he will be soon officially introduced as the Chief Justice.

Halim has previously served at the Justice Ministry of Afghanistan. He was introduced to the Wolesi Jirga or Lower House of Parliament for a vote of confidence by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani at the beginning of July where he secured 103 votes to become member of Afghanistan’s Supreme Court.

Halim says that under his service period, no innocent will be punished and no criminal will go unpunished.

Sayed Yousuf Halim is on the edge of becoming the Chief Justice at the time the judiciary is facing strong criticism for corruption.

It would be no less than a challenge for Halim to take over the current situation in the judiciary system if he is appointed as the Chief Justice.
