Afghan president Hamid Karzai once again urged Taliban group to stop attacking and blocking the schools and harming teachers and school students.
While speaking during a ceremony held to celebrate the opening educational year of 1391 president Karzai said, “I urge the Taliban militants to stop blocking the schools, harming teachers and students.”
He said, by attacking and blocking the schools the Taliban group is proving their enmity to Afghan people and Islam adding that the Taliban group prove their slavery to strangers and not their effort for the freedom of Afghanistan by closing the Afghan schools.
According to Afghan education minister around 500 schools are inactive and closed across the country due to instability where insurgents mostly believed to be Taliban militants are attacking and burning the schools in volatile regions.
President Karzai confirmed the growth of education in the country and emphasized for the growth and better quality of education through private schools and institutes.
He also insisted the education officials to be more specific and step up actions for improving the quality of education.
President Karzai urged the Afghan youths to doube their efforts for the future of Afghanistan while pointing and praising their recent achievements in various fields.
In parts of his speech he urged the Afghan scholars and religious leaders across the country to encourage their people and kids speficially their daughters to school.
