President Ghani invites Pakistan’s PM to visit Kabul

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has invited the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to visit Kabul in a bid to help kick start the government-to-government talks for reconciliation.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said President Ghani extended Kabul’s invitation to Pakistani Prime Minister during his meeting with Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua.

The statement further added that President Ghani discussed Kabul’s peace proposal to Taliban for peace talks as well as the proposal offered to Islamabad for reconciliation during the meeting with the Pakistani delegation led by Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janua.

According to ARG Palace, the two sides also discussed the opportunities regarding the regional connectivity, criminal economic activities, terror groups, and the circumstances surrounding the fight against terrorism.

The Office of the President said President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in line with Kabul’s invitation to Taliban and Pakistan for reconciliation offer during the Kabul Summit-II, invited the Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to visit Kabul in a bid to help kick start the government to government talks regarding the reconciliation effort.
