President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani granted the Afghanistan Cricket Board full independence after the receiving achievements of the Afghanistan cricket on domestic and international level.
The Presidential Decree states that Afghanistan has fortunately obtained full membership of the International Cricket Council to gain a national pride, and the decree is being issued to grant full independence to the cricket board in a bid to prevent interferences in its affairs.
The decree states that the Afghanistan Cricket Board is an independent administration and is obliged to respect the International Cricket Council rules and regulations.
It also adds that no individual or government entity has the right to intefere in the affairs of the cricket board and its other issues related to the sports.
President Ghani has warned that any interference by an individual or government entity would face legal pursuit.
The Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board Atif Mashal thanked President Ghani for the presidential decree, granting full independence to the cricket board.
Mr. Mashal further added that the administration of the cricket board of Afghanistan is committed to its independence and efforts to improve the cricket sport in the country.
