The Taliban held first joint meeting between its negotiating team and political members in Qatar, said the Taliban in a statement Sunday.

Mullah Beradar, Taliban’s Deputy to the leadership spoke to the group about the duties of the negotiating team.

Earlier, Zabiullah Mujahid tweeted the Taliban’s negotiation team consists of 21 members, with Maulavi Hakim as a newly appointed Head to the team. While, Stanikzai was appointed as the deputy.

Meanwhile, the US Department of State announced Zalmai Khalilzad, US Special Representative for Afghan peace, traveled to Doha as part of US efforts to immediately begin Intra-Afghan talks.

This comes as the prisoner’s swap between the Afghan government and Taliban has ended, opening the doors for both sides to hold Intra-afghan dialogues.
