clashes in UruzganAccording to local security officials in southern Uruzgan province of Afghanistan, at least three Afghan Local Police (ALP) officers were stabbed to death in the latest insider attack case in this province.

The officials further added that the incident took place early Tuesday morning in Charchino district after a group of militants attacked a check post in Dawan area.

District police chief Walidad confirming the report, said the militants managed to enter the security check post compound with the help of the two other policemen who were on patrol.

Mr. Walidad further added that the commander of the security check post was stabbed to death along with two other ALP service members.

He said the assailant militants managed to flee the area along with the two other ALP officers, who had assisted to carry out the attack.

The Taliban militants group in Afghanistan claimed responsibility behind the incident.

A spokesman for the Taliban group Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed that the insider attack left five Afghan police officers dead.
