
The police forces rescued a kidnapped student during an operation in the provincial capital of Herat province in West of Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement said the kidnappers had abducted the teenage student from Pul-e Rangina area of Herat city few days earlier.
The statement further added that the kidnappers were keeping the hostage inside a residential house in the city.
Furthermore, the interior ministry said the police forces freed the hostage earlier today by launching an operation in the 6th district of Herat city.
The Ministry of Interior also added that the kidnappers managed to flee the area but a hunt operation is underway to arrest the perpetrators.
