Police officer killed after man rams car into US Capitol barricades

A motorist drove a car into Police standing outside the U.S Capitol on Friday, killing one officer and injuring another.

The Capitol complex was later forced to a lockdown due to the vehicle ramming the police officers, the incident was not announced terrorist-related.

The 25-year-old suspect, Noah Green was shot and killed by the Police according to associated press.

Many media outlets reported that the Noah struggled with drug abuse, depression and paranoia.

It is also reported some of his Facebook posts were referred to a black nationalist group called Islamic Nation.

The acting police chief of the U.S Capitol, Yogananda Pittman said that after the suspect rammed over the police, he got out of the vehicle luging at the cops with a knife.

She told a reporter at a media conference, “It is with a very, very heavy heart that I announce one of our officers has succumbed to his injuries,”.

According to Reuters 18-year veteran of the police force William Billy Evans was the officer who was killed in the attack, he was the father of two children.

The other injured officer had minor injuries and is reportedly in a good condition.

Robert Contee, acting chief of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington“ It does not appear to be terrorism-related but obviously we’ll continue to investigate,”.

American President, Joe Biden was heartbroken by the incident, and flags were ordered to be lowered to half in the White house.
