KUNDUZ, Afghanistan – Ahmad Omar Saleh, Kunduz’s Chardara district police chief, was killed in clashes with the Taliban on Monday night, security sources said.

Taliban attacked security forces in Chardara and three other security force members were killed in the fighting, according to reports.

Saleh served the district as a police chief for the past several years.

Local security officials have not yet commented on the attack, while details remain limited.

Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.

Kunduz in north Afghanistan is one of the most insecure provinces, where Taliban have influences over several districts across north of the country, including in Taluqan.
