Wednesday, July 20, 2011 – According to local officials southern Afghanistan, first district police chief, Gulab Shah Khan including four other policemen were killed following clashes with two militant insurgents in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday.
Officials further added, the clashes started at around 9:30 am local time after Afghan forces launched an operation to capture two Taliban militants in a home in Ghargai area of first district of Kandahar.
Officials confirmed, the two Taliban militants were also killed in clashes with Afghan forces and the area is under control.
In the meantime, Taliban militants group have claimed responsibility.
