
Afghan police have arrested five persons, including women, over the abduction and murder of a child in eastern Parwan province, Afghanistan, on Wednesday.
Several days after the kidnapping, the child’s body was discovered on Wednesday morning in Police District One of Charikar City, according to a provincial statement.
In a similar incident, police in the Takhar province of northern Afghanistan last week detained three kidnappers and rescued a child from the kidnappers last week.
Criminal gangs, especially kidnappers, frequently attempt to target wealthy families in war-torn and economically depressed Afghanistan by kidnapping their members and demanding enormous sums of money as ransom for their release.
The current de facto authorities have vowed to crack down on criminal gangs and kidnappers to maintain law and order.
Since the return of the Taliban on August 2021, the country’s economic situation and employment have been devastating. As a result, most of the people suffer economically in the country.
