The President of Poland Andrzej Duda has said more Polish troops will be deployed to Afghanistan to contribute in NATO’s train, advise, and assist mission in Afghanistan.

President Duda made the remarks during his meet with the Chief Executive of the Government of National Unity of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday.

According to the Office of the Chief Executive, President Duda also pledged to increase political and military support to Afghanistan besides increasing the number of the Polish troops.

The source further added that the two sides also discussed the recent political developments and upheavals in Afghanistan.

In the meantime, Chief Executive Abdullah also hailed Poland for supporting the candidacy of Afghanistan in United Nations Human Rights Council.

He said the support of Poland for the nomination of Afghanistan is yet another step towards improving the bilateral relations of the two countries.
