An Afghan Army helicopter made emergency landing in western Nimroz of Afghanistan, slightly wounding the pilot of the light attack chopper.

The Ministry of Defense in a statement said the MD-530 helicopter made an emergency landing before noon time in Khashrod district of Nimroz.

The statement further added that the helicopter made the emergency landing due to technical issues which slightly wounded the pilot of the helicopter.

The Defense Ministry also added that it is further investigating the circumstances surrounding the emergency landing of the helicopter.

Nimroz is among the relatively volatile provinces in West of Afghanistan where Taliban militants are active in some of its remote districts and often attempt to carry out attacks against the government and security forces.
