Afghanistan:- In Kandahar province a district police chief for anti-criminal activities was attacked and his pregnant wife was killed.
Sources said that the militants attacked the anti-crime chief for PD11 of Kandahar on Saturday night, the attack left him injured but unfortunately his wife was killed.
The incident took place on 38 street of Aino Mena road in Kandahar city when Assadullah was taking his pregnant wife to a hospital.
In another incident, Sefatullah Faqir an Afghan Air Force member was assassinated by unidentified armed men in the Paghman district of Kabul province on Saturday night.
Sources told media that the incident occurred in the Bagh-e-Daud area in the Paghman district when gunmen sprayed bullets on Faqir’s vehicle.
According to police, an investigation is ongoing into the incident.
Meanwhile, on the same day Jawid Malikzai, an employee of the National Directorate of Security was murdered by unknown gunmen in the PD7 Qala-e-Ghaibi area of Kabul city.
Gunmen attacked when Malikzai was on his way to the office, his relatives confirmed to the media.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
This comes despite peace efforts, targeted killings, IED attacks, clashes, outflanking the defenseless, and most of all civilian casualties have escalated across Afghanistan
