Parliament Praises Khaama Press for Tireless Activities, and Achievements

Afghanistan’s Speaker of the House of Representatives praised Khaama News Agency on the occasion of gaining the position of the most-watched media in Afghanistan, as well as its impartial, fast, and accurate activities in the field of information.

Mir Rahman Rahmani, Speaker of the Afghan parliament, thanked Khaama Press’, Fatemeh Hashem, the managing director of the news agency, as well as the staff of the press with an appreciation certificate.

Rahmani said during the meeting that the media is the fourth pillar of a government and with its activities of informing the people, it is considered a strong factor in the fight against corruption.

He added that although the Afghan media community today faces various challenges and threats, however still performs well considering their responsibilities.

While appreciating Khaama Press’s accurate, prompt and impartial activities in the field of information, the Speaker of the House of Representatives said that Khaama Press’s acquisition of gaining most viewers (readers) and popularity in Afghanistan is a great achievement for the country’s media community and its staff.

Rahmani pointed out that he himself is one of the audiences of Khamaa Press articles, saying “ I always follow the issues published through this particular media”.

He also called on the media to work with the government to fight corruption in the country, saying the media is the “best tool to put pressure over corruption”.

Meanwhile, Fatemeh Hashem, Chief Editor to Khaama Press, cherished Rahmani’s support to media, especially to Khaama Press, said that this media has come a long way through a multitude of challenges and threats and has gained this position.

She added that the position of the most-watched media in the country has not been easily achieved by Khaama Press and that this is the result of the work and efforts of a committed and professional team around the clock.

Hashem emphasized that Khaama has struggled against countless problems and shortcomings until it reached this status, and this position is definitely not the ultimate goal of the Khaama press.

According to the authoritative Alexa ranking website, in 2020, Khaama Press became the first most read and watched media in Afghanistan.
