Parliamentarians have called on security officials to brief the house on Afghanistan’s present security situation on Sunday.
Defence, Interior Ministers and Chief of National Directorate of Security have been summoned after a string of deadly attacks targeting security institutions which are believed to have been carried out by insurgent sleeping cells.
“Escape from responsibility is not justifiable at any cost and expect them to responsibly stand before representatives of nation and answer questions. Otherwise it will show their recklessness and incompetence,” Shukria Barekzai, Afghan MP, said.
Afghan lawmakers also highlighted the need to discuss vital and fundamental issues of the country.
“We should discuss on US strategic issues. We are living in an occupied atmosphere. Neither US nor foreign organisations let the government raise such sort of issues,” another MP Abdul Latif Pedram said.
Meanwhile, the Afghan House of Representatives on Saturday approved the membership of Afghanistan in Convention of Persons with Disabilities.
