Parliament approved 16 more cabinet members

parliament16 new nominees for the cabinet of the National Unity Government were introduced to Parliament for a vote of confidence and all of them received the vote of confidence today.

Abdul Razaq Wahidi was announced minister for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology by receving 152 approved votes, Mahmood Baligh minister for Ministry of Public Work by receiving 168 approved votes, Homayoun Rasa was announced minister for the Ministry of Commerce and Industries by 170 approved votes, Abdul Bari Jahani was announced minister for the Ministry of Information and Culture by 120 approved votes, Asadullah Zamir was announced minister for the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock by receiving 192 approved votes.

Also, Mohammad Gulab Mangal was announced minister for the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs by receiving 188 approved votes, Abdul Satar Murad was announced minister for the Ministry of Economy by 152 approved votes, Maymood Batash was announced minister for the Ministry of Transport by 176 approved votes, Asadullah Hanif Balkhi was announced minister for the Ministry of Education 161 approved votes, Sayed Sadat Naderi was announced minister for the Ministry of Urban Development Affairs by 202 approved votes, Abdul Basir Anwar was announced minister for the Ministry of Justice by 138 approved votes and Salamat Azimi was announced minister for the Ministry of Counter Narcotics by 155 approved votes.

Farida Momand was announced minister for the for the Ministry of Higher Education by receiving 184 approved votes, Nasreen Oryakhil was announced minister for the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled by receiving 169 approved votes, Ali Ahmad Osmani was announced minister for the Ministry of Energy and Water by receiving 168 approved votes and Dilbar Nazari was announced minister for the Ministry of Women Affairs by receiving 131 approved votes.

The following nine members were approved before:

  1. Rahmatullah Nabil Chief for the National Directorate of Security (NDS): Pashtoon from Maidan Wardak Province
  2. Eklil Hakimi Minister for Finance Ministry: Pashtoon borne in Kabul, Originally from Laghman Province
  3. Ferozuddin Feroz Minister for the Ministry of Public Health: Tajik from Panjshir Province
  4. Noor-ul-Haq Ulomi Minister for Interior Ministry: Pashtoon from Kandahar province of Afghanistan
  5. Salahuddin Rabbani Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Tajik borne in Kabul, originally from Badakhshan Province
  6. Sayed Hussain Alemi Balkhi Minister for the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation
  7. Daud Shah Saba Minister for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum: Pashtoon from Herat province
  8. Nasir Durrani Minister for the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development: Pashtoon from Logar
  9. Faiz Mohammad Osmani Minister for the Ministry of Hajj & Religious Affairs: Uzbek borne in Kabul

The cabinet of the National Unity Government is now only missing a defense minister.
