A teenage boy has been arrested by police in Punjab province of Pakistan on charges of sexually assaulting a chicken, it has been reported.

Police officials have told The Express Tribune that the incident took place recently in a village located close to Jalalpur Bhattian.

The officials have further added that a 14-year-old boy was arrested after receiving complaints from the owner of the chicken.

Jalalpur Bhattian SHO Sarfraz Anjum told the news outlet that the suspect was arrested after a medical examination of the chicken confirmed the assault.

The police official also added that the suspect had also confessed to the crime. “He is a 14-year-old boy and did it out of sexual frustration,” he said.

According to reports, the boy is expected to appear before a magistrate today as he has been booked for ‘unnatural offence’.

Incidents involving sexual assault on animals and particularly chicken are not rare however such incidents are rarely reported in the South Asian countries, specifically Pakistan.

Reports emerging from Kenya earlier in March this year suggested that a man was jailed for 15 months after he was found guilty of raping a chicken out of frustration.
