Pakistani security personnel have detained 22 Afghan citizens in different parts of Torkham town.

Pakistani Police said that during raids on several parts, including the Bacha Mena border area in Torkham on Saturday, they detained 22 Afghan citizens.

The Police said they detained Afghan nationals staying in Pakistan without illegal documents. He also said the arrestees would be brought before the court on Monday.

The Police added that the raids occurred in the Torkham Market and the Bacha Mena border area due to several robberies.

For decades, Pakistan has generously hosted millions of Afghan refugees to live a peaceful life, work, and educate.

On the other hand, it has been reported that thousands of Afghan refugees have recently returned to the country from Pakistan.

Some Afghan returnees came home voluntarily, while others were compelled to leave Pakistan.

Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, most migrants have left the country due to persecution, lack of employment, and security concerns.
