A Pakistani military plane crashed in Rawalpindi city in Punjab province of Pakistan killing or wounding at least 29 people.

The plane crashed near Mora Kalu area of Rawalpindi as it was performing a routine training flight, killing at least 17 people.

The Inter-Services Public Relations, the media wing of Pakistani military confirmed in a statement that the crash also wounded 12 others.

The staetment further added that five crew members of the plane including two pilots were also killed incident.

Meanwhile, an area resident Mohammad Sadiq has told AFP that the plane crashed at around 2am local time.

Sadiq said “I woke to the sound of a huge explosion. I stepped out of my house and saw huge flames and we rushed to the site.”
