Provincial security chief, Gen. Abdul Habib Syed Khel said the rockets were fired Pakistani military in the past 24 hours.
Gen. Syed Khel further added that the rockets landed in Shegal and Dangam districts which incurred damages to the local residents.
He did not disclose if the cross-border shelling incurred any casualties to the local residents; however, he said dozens of people were forced to flee their homes due to the shelling.
The Pakistani army has been continuously shelling eastern Kunar province during the recent years; however, the shelling has intensified during the recent months which has left a number of local residents killed or injured.
The Pakistani air force also carried out an airstrike in Kunar province later in May which left at least five civilians dead and eleven others injured.
