Pakistani military fires 135 rockets into Kunar province

pakistan shell kunar provinceAccording to local authorities in eastern Kunar province of Afghanistan, the Pakistani military has fired at least 135 rockets in this province during the past 24 hours.

Provincial police chief, Gen. Abdul Habib Syed Khel, said the rockets landed in different parts of Dangam district of Kunar province.

Gen. Syed Khel further added that the cross-border shelling started late Tuesday night and continued until around 8:00 local time.

He said the shelling did not incur any losses or casualties to the local residents.

The Pakistani military continues to cross-border shelling in eastern Kunar province despite the Pakistani ambassador was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

The National Security Council of Afghanistan (NSC) also accused Pakistan for supporting the terrorist groups, increasing its military presence among the militants in Afghanistan and persistent shelling into Kunar province, and warned that such violations will not remain unanswered from the Afghanistan side.
