pakistanA Pakistani passenger plane was not allowed to land in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Shaheen Air flight SAI (NL) -711 left Pakistan’s Lahore city on April 9 and was supposed to land in Dammam airport on Friday but was not allowed by Saudi’s Aviation Authorities to land after entering its airspace.

Khalid Fareed, the General Manager of Shaheen Air is quoted as saying that the same aircraft was allowed to land before but this time the plane was not allowed to land due to operational issues.

“We were told by the Saudi Aviation Authority that because the aircraft was on lease from a Jordanian airline, it was not in line with the Saudi National Aviation policy to allow it to even enter Saudi airspace, let alone land there,” he is quoted as saying.

The plan then diverted and landed in UAE for refueling after which it left back to Pakistan.

But after discussions and receiving the permission to land the plane left back to Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan’s parliament recently voted not to give military support to Saudi Arabia in its fight against Huthis in Yemen which has made Saudi Arabia angry.
