Pakistan warns to retaliate against any fire from Afghanistan

Sartaj AzizPakistan has called on Afghanistan to hand over the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief, Mullah Fazlullah, alleging that the TTP chief is hiding in eastern provinces of Afghanistan.

Sartaj Aziz, Pakitan’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Adviser, told reporters the cross-border incursions from the Afhgan side is a serious issue.

Aziz further added that Pakistan was in touch with the Afghan authorities for the better management of border and installation of bio-metric verification system on border crossing points which he believes can ensure better management of the border.

He stated in categorical terms that Pakistan will fully protect its border and retaliate to any fire from the other side.

The remarks by Aziz comes as the Afghan government accused the Pakistani military and intelligence services for increasing their influence and support to terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

The Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan was also summoned by the ministry of foreign affairs of Afghanistan regarding the persistent interference of Pakistan in Afghanistan and cross-border shelling in eastern Kunar province.
