Pakistan to host OIC extraordinary session on Afghanistan on 19-Dec

The Pakistan capital Islamabad will be hosting an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation that will be concentrated on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

The session in scheduled for Saturday, December 19, and representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have also been invited.

Foreign Ministers of the member states will discuss the means of providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

CFM will find solutions for the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, especially in terms of food shortages, displacement of people, and a potential economic collapse.

The 17th extraordinary CFM session is being convened at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the session, the UN, International Financial Institutions, non-OIC member states, US, UK, China, Russia, Germany, Italy, Japan, and EU have also been invited.

In the meantime, it is said that the OIC member states will also have their demands from the representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
