Pakistan foreign ministry in a statement reacted to the decision by President Ghani based on which Afghan ambassador and diplomats are recalled.
President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday afternoon directed the Afghan foreign ministry to recall all Afghan envoys after the daughter of the Afghan ambassador was kidnapped and then tortured.
The statement of the Afghan foreign ministry reads the Afghan diplomats will not return to Pakistan until their safety and impunity are ensured and the culprits are arrested.
Meanwhile, Pakistan foreign ministry statement called the move as unfortunate and ensures the Afghan government of security provided to the Afghan ambassador and his family.
The statement further reads that full cooperation in regards to the incident has been re-assured to the Afghan ambassador and asked the Afghan government to reconsider the decision.
Pakistan interior minister Sheik Rashid on the other hand said that the incident is being investigated and ensured to be resolved with days.
Afghan government apparently does not await the outcome of Pakistan’s investigation and announced to send a delegation to Pakistan to get to the bottom of the incident.
Former President Hamid Karzai too condemned the abduction of Selsila Ali Khel and asked the Pakistani government to conduct an investigation into the incident.
