Following the killing of 9 Pakistani citizens by armed individuals in Iran, Islamabad has declared this attack as “terrorist” and urged Tehran to investigate the matter.

Pakistani media, citing Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson for the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have reported, “This is a horrifying and reprehensible incident, and we unequivocally condemn it.”

Iranian media reported on Saturday, January 27th, that 9 foreign nationals were murdered by unidentified armed individuals in the southeast of the country near the border with Pakistan.

According to reports, these foreign nationals who were killed near the Pakistani border were Pakistani citizens working at a motor workshop.

The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “We are in contact with Iranian authorities and have emphasized the need for an immediate investigation into this heinous crime and accountability of the perpetrators.”

This incident comes in the context of recent airstrikes where Pakistan and Iran targeted each other’s territories, resulting in the deaths of several civilians, including children.

Tensions have been escalating between the two countries following these recent events.

Both Pakistan and Iran face international scrutiny and pressure to address the growing hostilities and ensure the safety of their citizens.
