Pakistan claims to arrest Afghan army officer for illegally crossing border

afghanwire9n-2-webThe Pakistani security officials claimed that an officer of the Afghan National Army (ANA) was arrested due to the lack of documents to travel to Pakistan.

The officials further added that the Afghan army officer was arrested after he crossed into Pakistan without any valid documentation.

A Pakistani military source quoted by local media agencies said the Afghan army officer is in custody for further investigation.

He said the officer was arrested on Pak-Afghan Torkham border and was shifted to Landi Kotal Jail.

The Afghan security institutions including the ministry of defense of Afghanistan have not commented regarding the report so far.

In the meantime, the Pakistani military source said that the detained Afghan army officer was recognized as Zabiullah who had crossed into Pakistani territory and had no valid documents.
