Pakistan fire missiles in AfghanistanAn Afghan border protection police officer was killed following cross-border shelling by Pakistan in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Friday.

Pakistani military started shelling Maruf district in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Friday afternoon, 1TV News reported.

Provincial security chief Gen. Abdul Razaq said a civilian worker was killed and two Afghan border police officers were injured after a missile hit an Afghan check post.

He said the incident took place in Karezak check post near Durand Line.

Pakistani military has been shelling eastern provinces of Afghanistan including Kunar and Nuristan province during the past one year. Tensions intensified between the two nations following border clashes between Afghan and Pakistani security forces in Goshta district.

An Afghan border guard was killed and three Pakistani military forces were injured after Afghan and Pakistani troops exchanged fire in Goshta district earlier last month.
