A fighter jet belonging to Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan earlier today, the country’s Air Force confirmed.

According to a statement released by Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the F-16 fighter jet crashed near Shakarparian in Islamabad on Wednesday morning.

The fighter jet was reportedly rehearsing for the March 23 flypast when it crashed.

The authorities have not commented regarding the possible casualties as result of the incident so far.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Air Force has said the Air Headquarters has ordered an inquiry to determine the cause of the incident.
