The National Statistics and Information Authority of Afghanistan has announced the issuing and distributing of over 320,000 electronic identity cards.
This department announced on Sunday, through a statement, that they have distributed electronic IDs for 320,146 Afghan citizens only during November.
According to this department, the highest number of electronic IDs has been distributed to the citizens in the city of Kabul.
Based on the statistics provided by this department, 64,000 electronic IDs have been distributed in Kabul alone.
Previously, the head of the National Statistics Authority had assured that efforts were being made to expedite the issuance of electronic IDs following the plan and to address the issues faced by applicants.
This comes as citizens had previously complained about delays in the distribution of electronic IDs and had called for the authorities’ attention.
